Why work with us
Business owners spend an average of 52 hours per week working either in or on their businesses. In London and the South East this figure rises to 62 hours.
Spend time working ON your business and work less.
Our vision is simply to help entrepreneurial business owners to create businesses that will give them the life they want.
We recognise that every client is different. Each is at a different point in their business journey. Each will have a different vision of what their business will look like when it’s ‘finished’. Each will want different things from the relationship they have with us.
5 Reasons To Work With Us
Here are the five most common challenges and reasons that bring our clients to us. It is by no means an exhaustive list, but most business owners will recognise at least one which is limiting the growth of their business right now.
Time – one of the most significant challenges a business owner will face is the amount of time they spend ‘working’. Everyone has the same number of hours in a day and yet some people seem to achieve so much more than others. We help our clients prioritise what needs to be done to achieve their objectives through planning their ‘ideal’ or ‘model’ week. Working in this way means time is spent on being productive and our clients tell us it makes them feel less stressed.
Profit – every organisation needs to make a profit. Without it there can be no investment for the future. Knowing what makes you unique and how you can offer better value to your prospects is essential if you’re going to be paid what you need to earn to cover your costs, earn what you deserve and make a profit. Knowing your competitors, knowing the value you can deliver to your clients and knowing what makes you unique allows you to position your business in the market so that it isn’t all about price when a client buys from you.
Not just coaching – because every client is has different aspirations for their business, we offer a blend of coaching (asking you the right questions to solidify the vision you have for your business), mentoring (helping you to develop the skills and knowledge that will take to you toward achieving your vison) and consultancy (sourcing some of the information you will need to make the right decisions in the route you want to take to achieve your objectives).
12-week cycles – we work with clients in 12-week cycles because we believe that in working toward a set of specific objectives across a short enough period to ensure the focus required to deliver. Our sessions are either fortnightly or three weeks in every four. But, irrespective of the session frequency, we ensure that our clients are committed to doing what is necessary to achieve their objectives – and we hold them accountable in a constructive and supportive way when things haven’t quite gone to plan.
Fees – unlike most business coaches, we work on a retainer with a ‘success fee’ payable once we have achieved the objectives we have agreed with our client at the start of our relationship. These fees are linked to specific, measurable, achievable, reviewable and timed (SMART) objectives, usually relating to increases in turnover or profit, the reduction of time working in the business or the implementation of new systems, processes or programs. This is important to someone using a coach for the first time and is often seen as us sharing the risk. Importantly our fees are tied to a reasonable return on investment (ROI).
Working with our business coaches in London and Kent will help you become more efficient, ensure your business operates more effectively (even when you’re not there) and give you more time to do the things that are important to you.
Some kind words from our clients
"Thank you so much for the work you did with my me on my company's health-check earlier this year. The report you provided and the insight you shared has been invaluable in helping me reinvigorate my business. At the end of 2016, I was at a complete cross-road with regard to my business. Though it had been one of my best years ever, it had also been a very difficult year: the Google business model which had been the center of my business for years had changed dramatically, I had changed my office location back to a home office, and to compound it all, had broken my foot and just wasn't really all that inspired. Sitting down with you was one of the smartest things I did in 2016. It provided me the opportunity to reflect on what I had achieved and focus on the aspects of my business that I really enjoy - while at the same time identify the aspects I was willing to move past. You were patient, asked solid questions and took my brain dump and transformed it into a succinct and actionable plan. I have been relucant in the past to being open for coaching assistance, but the work you have done with me was simple and to the point - and well-worth the time and investment. I would happily recommend you to any of my friends and peers."
"I personally wanted thank you for your great service during the recent months. When I decided to appoint you for the Business Health Check over my company I was very curious and somehow intrigued on what benefits it could have brought to my business. Well, after the first minutes of our first meeting I knew you were going to come up with some unvaluable insights for my business and I still look nowadays at the extensive report you kindly left me. I feel now focused, committed and keep referring to my unique selling point which will be a key to move my business forward. Thanks for helping business to achieve the next step and look forward to working with you in the newr future."
"I write this letter to show my appreciation to you in the way you helped me to understand how best to make my business grow. When I first came to see you I was in a terrible state and couldn't understand why. You kindly offered to performed a SWOT analysis. This enabled me to better recognise the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that are not only in my business but also those of my nearest competitors. the first thing you suggested was to do away with my promotional mugs. Apparently my slogan, "don't be a mug get a mug", was crap and possibly offensive. Now, six months down the line, I have a better understanding of business through all you've taught me. I have no hesitation in referring you to my friends and colleagues, providing their business doesn't conflict with mine."
"Paul has been extremely helpful in assisting us in the focus needed for the launch of our new venture and ground-breaking service. Paul is able to draw on decades of experience across a number of industries to distil that knowledge to produce the desired results. Always helpful and with a generous spirit Paul has been a great help to us and we thank him for that and have no doubt he has made a significant contribution."
